«Face mapping» is a method based on the Chinese’s opinion of the skin’s most important task being to communicate the condition of your body’s organs. They claim that your skin is your body’s mirror. Whether or not one is convinced of this theory must be for oneself to decide but one thing is certain: healthy skin is beautiful skin. What can we learn from the relationship between diet and healthy a beautiful skin?

There is no doubt that healthy skin is beautiful skin. What you eat will greatly affect your skin.

What is “face mapping” saying about pimples around the face?

The Chinese have made a map for how the organs are reflected in the skin of the face. To get healthy and beautiful skin you must assure that it comes from within. The map and their explanations say this, amongst other things:

  • The forehead: stress and too much unhealthy foods
  • Between eyebrows: alcohol, fatty food, milk and sugar. Lever is connected to this area
  • Around the eyes: too little water. Also counts for dark rings, discolor or impurities
  • On the cheeks: smoking and too much contamination, plus overheating. Lung system is linked to this area
  • On your nose: blood pressure, B-vitamin level and unhealthy fats
  • On the side of your chin: hormones can be off track. Often happens around menstruation and ovulation
  • On chin: more fiber is needed in the diet, plus limited sugar supply. Can be linked to milk allergy. Stomach is connected to this area

What is the food you’re eating doing to your skin?

It is not shocking news that consuming large amounts of chocolate can reflect in your skin. Sugar and refined grain products are fast-digestible carbohydrates, which can trigger pimple breakouts. Doctor and writer Rolah O. Lønning claim sugar has more negative effects in skin and health. Sugar binds to proteins and fiber in your skin. This initiates inflammatory processes that destroys the collagen. Having too much sugar in your diet is simply not compatible with healthy and beautiful skin, or good health in general.
